Kelly & Josh’s Fall Engagement Session at Hog's Back Falls, Ottawa
Kelly & Josh's engagement session was at one of my favourite Ottawa locations, Hog's Back Falls. I love this spot because there's so much variety. There are the trees, the river, the waterfall, and the rock formations, all within walking distance of each other. It makes for a really full gallery.
They also brought their dog for the first part of the session, which made for some really sweet, natural moments. Kelly & Josh had a outfit change partway through, which I always love because it adds variety and makes it feel like two different sessions in one.
We started under the trees, where the fall leaves were really beautiful and colourful. Then we made our way down to the river, and after the outfit change, headed up to shoot above the waterfall before finishing at the rock formations. Josh had one request going into the session… he wanted a photo where he's hanging off the edge of the cliff. It looks way more dramatic than it was, there was ground right below him the whole time! But it made such a fun photo!
I always love when couple’s bring some ideas that make the photos their own. Whether it’s specific poses they say, or a goofy silly photo, or a pose they want to recreate from one of their first photos together. That makes the shoot so much more them and special.
