Lauren & Parker’s Summer Engagement Session at Hog’s Back Park
As an Ottawa engagement photographer, I love locations that offer variety and natural beauty, and Hog’s Back Park is one of my favorites. For Lauren & Parker’s session, we started on the forest path, where sunlight streamed through the trees, creating a soft, golden glow that felt romantic and serene.
Lauren wore a flowing white dress that moved beautifully in the light and added elegance to each photo, while Parker’s cream-colored shirt and jeans complemented both her dress and the natural surroundings. Choosing timeless outfits like these helps create photos that feel effortless and authentic.
One of the highlights of Hog’s Back Park is its rock formations near the waterfall. These formations offer several unique spots for photos. We captured Lauren & Parker sitting closer to the water, standing above it on the bridge, and standing at the top of the rocks, looking out over the water. Each spot offered a different perspective, adding depth and variety to the session. The lighting combined with the texture of the rocks and the flowing water created a natural, dramatic backdrop that really made the images feel special.
We finished the session in a nearby field with tall grasses and white flowers. They brought a picnic basket and blanket, which added a relaxed, romantic element to the end of the session. These simple moments of connection, sitting together and enjoying the evening, are what make engagement sessions feel personal and timeless.
Lauren & Parker were calm, easygoing, and naturally connected, which made photographing them feel effortless. From walking together through the forest to laughing at small, playful moments, the session felt like a peaceful summer evening while also capturing beautiful images they will cherish forever.
Engagement sessions are about connection, comfort, and capturing the small moments that make your relationship unique. Hog’s Back Park provided the perfect backdrop for Lauren & Parker to feel relaxed and natural, resulting in images full of warmth and authenticity.
